1. While trolling in Venice a 12' Thresher shark started jumping completely out of the water behind the boat. I am talking like 15' in the air.

2. Had a black bear cub play under my climbing standing in Miss public land last year.

3. Always cool when you see otters in the wild. Ive seen them in Slidell, Leeville, and Hopedale.

I was playing golf in Mexico and a herd of 20 monkeys ran across the fairway right in front of me. It was truly a WTF moment.

Yeah, that area isn't far from here. I'd like to see that myself.

Natives here have legends about white bears or spirit bears that used to inhabit the Islands of the SE Alaska panhandle.

Whistle pigs, the worlds slowest portly rodent.

We have them in the high country but they venture down to the valleys on occasion. Fun to watch them in the alpine regions, they will whistle and warn others in the area of people or wolves approaching.

Not an animal, but caught a seahorse in '71 in the East Bay of Santa Rosa Island at night with a scoop net.

I have also caught a seahorse there! about 10 years later I'm fishing on the fort pickens pier and two manatees swim under it. Talk ab wtf. Then there was that stupid bear I saw on the interstate between new roads and the atchafalaya.

This thread was great. Enjoyed it.

One of my exes grew up near their range and never saw one. I first read about them in her town's museum.

I had a big cuda follow us to our decompression stop on a dive. I would turn and it would be like 2 feet from me. That and a face to face with a 600# Goliath were amazing experiences.

If cudas are silver, they're calm, no worries. When they darken up and shown their stripes, give them space.

A school of ten or so small squid while snorking in the Caribbean.

Really incredible how they pulsated different colors down their bodies, all in unison.

I assume they were communicating.

Found a small scorpion on it. I know it's an insect but finding one in Mississippi is strange.

They're fairly common where I grew up in AL.

Yeah we get them in our basement in GA all the time. Little ones but still...

Also - sloths in Costa Rica are weird as hell. The monkeys down there aren't strange as much as evil bastards. The Capuchins would follow me around from the tree tops and try to pee on me. Never did this to my wif.

And Keas down in New Zealand are a bit weird. Ground dwelling parrots that live in the mountains and will rip your car apart if you aren't careful.

My dad and brother saw a porcupine climb a tree in west texas. They said that they thought it was a bear before they put a scope on it.

I've seen manatees while swimming at the beach and that's always pretty cool(at least after I realized that the shadow wasn't a shark). Also had an angel shark try to bite my friends foot when we were snorkeling a few years ago.

From our 20th floor balcony in Panama City Beach, saw a manatee swimming just passed the sandbar. April of this year in the middle of the gulf, I was watching the flying fish from the deck of a cruise ship when I saw a whale shark swimming by. What an awesome creature.
