Springfield Defender 1911

Anyone have one or know anything about these?
Looks like it’s a basic 5” 1911.
Just got an email from PSA saying it’s on sale for $499.
That’s crazy if it’s a decent weapon.

It's a Mil-spec with their dopey locking system, I imagine they aren't very desirable but it will be a shooter and that's a very good price.

Are you dead set on 45? Or just excited over the value of that gun because it's a Springfield?
As someone above said, it's a basic mil spec. I'm sure it'll shoot nicely, but if you're looking for something with some more nice bits, check out the Rock Island Ultra FS Series. Both Pepperidge and I have one in 9mm and we both agree it's one of the best shooting guns each of us own. You can usually find one online for about the same price as that Springfield and they come loaded with features.
I highly recommend the Rock's these days. They've come a long way and their value-to-price ratio is amazing!
