We use handheld spotlights at night during summers on the catfish farm to spot oxygen trouble in the ponds.

I always buy the typical Q beam or Stanley from Wal Mart, I’ve tried cyclops, none ever seem to last more than a month maybe 2. LED or standard bulbs. They’re used probably 7 hours a night 7’nights a week from May through September.

Anyone know a good quality LED light, preferably with 2 million candlepower and a wider beam that covers a good area that will last at least a full year? I don’t care if it’s 3-400 dollars I’m just tired of buying new ones all the time

Streamlight. They have a plethora of options and I’m sure you can find one. I have the Stinger. About $150. It comes with a cig lighter charger if you don’t have a 110 outlet in your truck. Use it all the time when checking poly pipe or planting and harvesting after dark.

For the money, love this one:

Amazon.

Got mine off Sportsman's Guide, but there are other sites that sell it.

Thing throws out some light. More durable than you'd think.

I don't have a recommendation for you but teach me more about this:

Best spotlight I have ever bought:
Spotlight

I have bought 3 of them just cause we use them so much. Only one has broken and that is because it was submerged under water. These things charge and battery are way better then any other lights we have used. It says 900 lumens but I dont think it is accurate. The other lights that are just like it say 2200 lumens and all appear the same brightness. VERY solid construction.

Unfortunately as you can see from the link they no longer have it available. I am pretty certain this is the same light though rebranded:
Stanley Version

Instead of candle power you need to look at 1st lumens and 2nd the length of throw.

a 2000-3000 lumen light with a short throw is something you will not be happy with.

You will also need something that you are able to remove the batteries as something like these high intensity beams will eat through batteries pretty quickly

Here is a Fenix 5100 lumens with an 850m throw
Fenix tk75

nitecore tiny monster:

1500m throw 5200 lumens

I have the Stanley fat max 2200 also, as someone listed above. Hard to beat for a $50 spot.

If oxygen levels are low the fish come to the surface looking for O2 and if you see them then you need to put in emergency tractor pto driven aeration to generate oxygen or they’ll die within 15 minutes.

Most oxygen levels get low only at night in the warm months due to the breakdown of biological materials such as feed and waste which eats up oxygen and with no sunlight for algae to produce O2 through photosynthesis is causes quick drops in oxygen.

Some of the best duck hunting I’ve ever been a part of has been on catfish ponds in west AL of all places.
