A little advice when choosing a shot gun. Let the user hold it sort of at the waist. Tell him to close his eyes and shoulder the gun. Now let him open his eyes and choose the one where the front and rear of the barrel are on the same plane with his eyes.

Wait what???

That is how you determine the dominant eye. That shouldn't have anything to do with choosing a shotgun.

Helps to determine if the gun fits you.

When you open your eye, the barrel should be on plane with your eye.

With 2 beads, you should only be seeing the beads lined up. None of the rail nor just the rear bead.
Not sure I explanation is clear there.

I think that's talking about two different things. Of course you should see if the shotgun fits the person. However, what was described is how you determine which eye is dominant.

Don’t overlook an older 870.

I have one I got new in 1990. Love that shotgun.

I learned to shoot with a pump 870 before I ever messed with a semi-auto and I swear I’m a better shot because of it. Some might not agree but it worked for me no doubt.

Man, I just can't ever get over it.

I shoot my A390(almost the same exact thing just synthetic stock) mainly. But man, that B80, it's just perfect. The stock, the way it swings, the action. I've never shot anything better.

Give him your current shotgun and go buy yourself a new one.
