Is anybody aware of any other coolers with a magnetic closure like the Yeti Hopper?

Love the cooler and design, don’t like the price

Not magnetic, but the AO cookers are bomb proof.

I had one fly off the roof rack on the interstate at 90.

Wasn't even scuffed.

But after a few years the plastic buckles get brittle and will break if they land just right when full.

I think it's just the Yeti with magnets. I just sent my hopper back under warranty due to zipper issues. The other coolers with zippers don't have the same issues as the chunky Yeti zipper with plastic teeth. There are some coolers with roll tops (watertight) and velcro instead of zipper.

I’ve got a Ozark Trail with the zipper and the zipper is close to inoperable at this point. I really like the Yeti design. I just use it as a beer cooler really and that’s a super convenient design. Might have to bite the bullet or just grin and bear it until another manufacturer comes out with something similar

I've had:

AO Coolers (not waterproof zipper - unless they changed design)
Polar Bear (not waterproof zipper and my interior liner cracked due to heat. threw it away)
RTIC (so far so good and waterproof zipper)

2 RTIC soft sides here.
One the glue around the top failed after a year or so, it was a 40 qt
the zipper failed on the 20 qt after just a few months. I nursed it for a couple more until I got the redass with it.
I'll never spend another dime on their crap.

ETA: most recently bought a cheap igloo soft side that riped the inner liner the first damn time I used it

I have the vagina zipper and the hopper flip....The hopper flip stays loaded with beer/water in the truck....the vagina stays in the garage 90% of the time.

For the first five years or so it will survive a 200-foot fall no questions asked. Later on after it's been sun-baked a bunch of times, if you throw it up in the air like a tard and it lands in the back of a truck just right on a hitch it can break the buckle

You must wax it every time you open and close it. Mine lasted a while 3 months.

My magnet hopper stays in the drop basket of my fourwheeler with an empty 16 Miller bottle wedged in so it can drip dry. Convenient?

Pretty much every person in our kayak club uses the AO 36. I've had mine for 4 years and still going strong.
