Thinkin about going to Belle River this weekend. Everyone I talk too tells me that the bream and cats are biting like they are starving. Hook em in da mouf is what I say. You heard any good fishing reports on those tasty critters?

Going to Veret/Grassey lake Saturday, so I hope there right. But yes, I've heard the same.

They have been up this way to. I'm wondering if all this rain we're getting is gonna shut them down. I'm ready to catch of box full of red ears.

Been pouring here. Just have to see if it drives them off their beds.

I'm going with my uncle next weekend. I haven't been with him since my Pow Pow died. I asked him where we were going and he said He didn't know; he is going to put some X's on the map in the next week. He is possibly the best X putter on the mapper ever. I've never been with him and not caught a shitton, even in the worst conditions.

I think water temp, is the key. Rain may have some affect on surface temp, but may not affect the beds, especially at 3'-4' were we'll be.

The spillway was high as girraffee pussy last time I checked, which 9 times outta 10 means there ain't shite biting.

Your right about that. I'm leaving an hour and a half early so I can hopefully get a place to park. Veret fills up quick when the spillway is high.

In that case I might try to make a trip out that way Sunday. I was considering it but will probably be hungover. Good reports will help me break through that hangover and get my arse out there

Buddy went to Spillway Tuesday. He only caught 4 and his Pow Pow only caught 5 bream on crickets. He said water was high and dirty.

I have no doubt if you catch the right weather, you'll load the boat. But the wind has been merciless. He'll even Henderson looked rough as hell this afternoon. I can't imagine how rough it is on the coast.

I wouldn't hit spillway for bream right now. I'd find good water on the other side of the levee

It was pretty ridiculous. Probably 40 boats, about 100 people fishing. All in the water. EVERYONE catching. Most started with live bait, but turned out white with chartreuse tail bayou thumpers were working best. On the bottom, extremely slow.

Similar to that except white instead of black. Pretty crazy how picky they were being, but once you switched over, it was over.
