So I got a call from Academy today...

and they failed to get me to sign a required federal form and they want me to come in and sign it. What happens if I don't go in to sign the form?

Did you already take delivery of the firearm? If you dont have the gun already then they just wont release it until you do. If you have the gun there isnt anything Academy can do. You may get a letter from the DOJ though... Just a guess..

Had same thing happen at big Jim's....... They called.............I went and signed...
It was the background check form. Sales guy just didnt check to see if I had signed it..

It is frustrating, but I would just go sign it for the sake of not being a dick and getting someone fired over this.

I'm definitely gonna go in and sign it. It was just a curiosity question. Wasn't sure if the Feds would come beating my door down looking for the gun or wanting me to sign the form.

If you don't go sign it you may be in possession of an illegal firearm. I doubt it but I'd go sign anyway.

I would go sign it too. I sure wouldn't let them make me wait in their everyday, 45 minute line at the gun counter to sign it though.

The form has to be filled out to the t for the ATF. There is no registration, just missing infO on the form that the the employee and the store in lots of trouble with the ATF.

Which Academy, an if it is either one located in BR ask for the Store manager. An bitch about it an everything. Chances are he gives you a gift card.

What they said. They'll have to report it to the ATF. Someone will get fired over it. And ATF might just show up at your door asking why you didn't sign it.

My gf bought a handgun at academy and she received a call a couple of days after saying that she needed to go in and fill out some more paperwork. She ignored it and hasn't heard back from them since. That was half a year ago.

On a handgun... they'll be calling. I forget how often they checked us. I think it was yearly. They might could fudge the sig on a long gun but ATF wants to know where everything is related to handguns or somebody is in deep shite.
