I agree with you. I know the snakes build a fire to stay warm when it gets cold.

I can only say from experience that I saw a 5 ft timber rattler out, about 5 days after it was 7 degrees in Southern Mississippi. It was sitting fully exposed on the ground. February. Temp the day of sighting and meeting with Mr. .22 was upper 30’s.

.22 is not preferred, that’s why I recommend .410.

I’d heard that they’d sit on palmettos and thought it was an old urban legend. I guess the can! Damnit! As if I didn’t have enough to worry about lol
