Chicken snake. He's non venomous so feel free to kill him. Save more room for the good snakes.

It amazes me that someone knows about the existence of something as obscure as a saltmarsh snake, yet can’t identify a simple rat snake.

It’s like if someone who knows nothing about cars saw a Volkwagen Beetle and asked, “Is that a Koenigsegg Gemera?”

I googled "Louisiana snakes" and went through the pictures. The one they had for the saltmarsh snake looked pretty close to the one I photographed, hence the reference.
