I don't know anyone, for sure, who has ever been bitten by a venomous snake, and not even sure if any one I know knows one.

I know one person that was bitten by a cottonmouth when he tried to catch it. I had an aunt last year that was bitten by a copperhead in her flowerbed. Neither would have benefitted from snake boots.

I read a statistic years ago that I'll just pretend I remember that goes something like this: "60% of venomous snake bites in the US are on the hands or arms to white males under the influence of drugs or alcohol."

If you look up worldwide stats, monkey attacks are far more dangerous. Frickin monkeys.

Threat or not, that is how I prefer to identify a damn snake... To each his own

I know of three by name all are or were good friends.
One was bitten on the neck in belle chase and died, one was bitten on the heel by his camp on the river he was wearing flip flops and the other was bitten on the finger by a rattlesnake while reaching into some brush.
Snake boots would have only helped 1/3 but I wear them just because it’s easy for me to just buy snake boots instead of any other boots.

I got Snake Guardz for me and my son last year and really like them.

Comfortable enough, and once I’m out of questionable areas easy to take off. Also good for thornbushes.

Overall, it’s really mostly peace of mind. My area of the Ozarks is really thick and the terrain makes it such that you can’t really look down cause trees are in your face going up steep bluffs.

Word from people who was there looking for him was they thought it was possible the he was stooped down low trying to crawl through some of the hog trails that he was scouting and a snake was either on a root ball or on the bottom of a shrub and hit his neck.
Supposedly several snakes were seen while looking for him and I was told by several people that due to the amount of hogs that the rattle snakes don’t rattle. I can’t confirm or deny that claim only repeat what several people from that area have told me they claim as fact.
