Small Plane Crash in Morehouse Parish

2 dead - names not released - appears it happened mid afternoon - word is it is a local NELA plane - name of pilot and passenger not released yet.
Hope all of our OB brothers are safe and were not flying over MP today.

The article says they crashed in Collinston. What's the airport close to Wham Brake? You see small planes going and coming low across it constantly.

Pilot name is Angel Torres he was good dude and a good friend only 22 years old biggest heart on this planet
I'm not sure who his passenger was most likely a instructor from that area

Pretty sure it was part of the flight school that is flying off the Bastrop strip. And yes you see them flying low all the time training out there. I'm no pilot but yesterday's weather seemed like an awful time to be flying around in a little airplane..

That makes sense.
As to the Wham Brake planes. I've pondered many a morning how a goose took down Capt. Sully's plane in New York, but these planes fly through a bee's nest of ducks and geese day in day out.

We battled the fight school half duck season this passed year trying to get them to stop flying over our fields and the coulee. Know what ducks do when a plane flys over them at tree top level? They GTF out of dodge. Our season did a 180 when they finally stopped buzzing us and moved somewhere else.

There used to be a guy out of Lake Providence who was notorious for buzzing peoples fields in a small plane to drive birds out. A farmer we used to lease from just across the Arkansas line told us everyone in the area hated the guy and rumor was people had shot at bodies of geese trying to run them into his plane before.

mad, probbaly. armed, yes. But I wouldn't call 2 dudes with duck guns and two/three shots of birdshot that has an effective range of not even as far as I can throw a football, well armed.
