Outdoor. It is a copper line that runs/ran to a cheesy pool slide. It is leaking and is primed when the sprinkler system is primed. I have no desire to keep a slide from 1985. I have no desire to trace this thing back to where it "T's" off of the sprinkler line. I just want it stopped. If I change my mind in the future I can saw it off and start over with new.

We have tried a threaded cap with a collar. It slips on but it not holding pressure. I know the device has a term, but I do not know it. I would pound the line flat with a hammer and roll it like the end of and old tube of toothpaste if I thought it would work. Being an ugly job is ok as it will be buried under dirt and grass anyway.

solder a cap on it would be the way it should be done. I am not sure if they have a sharkbite fitting for capping off a line.

Solder is the correct answer. Just be damn sure you have the water line and not a gas line...

Sharkbite Cap
Clean the copper and slip that on. if its been exposed it may have changed in size a little so you may have to dig up a portion till you find the original OD.
That's assuming you don't have the ability to solder a cap. Which since your asking I'm assuming you don't.

It has an internal, retractable o-ring. I use shark bites on most my plumbing now. They do cost more than a fitting you would sweat, but the time saved is worth it.

They are great but expensive. You can use it on CPVC, copper and PEX pipe. Good for if you can't fully get the water to stop comping out of a copper line.
