I am looking into the Omega 36M as a good “all around” suppressor but more specially can use on my 35 whelen. Any thoughts on this or any others can be used on large bore calibers like the 35?

I already have a Silencerco Sparrow for my .22, .17, and 5.7 and AWC 5.56

The omega 36m only goes to 33 caliber.
You need either a silencerco hybrid 46 or a griffin armament bushwhacker. I went with the bushwhacker because it can be taken apart and cleaned, whereas the hybrid 46 cannot be taken apart. There’s 1 left on gunbroker. Can’t find them anywhere else.

No. It's for 9mm too. .35 whelen is 9mm bullet. .338 is the pressure rating for rifles. .35 has less pressure than .338 but larger bore size.

Chat, do you have any suggestions for one? I know you are big on CGS but seems like for what I am looking for I am limited. Wanted something I could use on 35 whelen and other hunting rifles I have as well.

Yeah, until CGS releases their big bore cans (coming soon), Silencerco Hybrid, 36M, Griffin Bushwhacker 46, and Bowers group Vers 375 are your best bet. If it were me, I would buy the Bowers. It'll be lighter for it's length (15.4oz at 8.6inches) and their cans sound good.

Well I stand corrected. I scratched the 36m off of my list because I didn’t know this.

30 cal hard use silencer. Not for .35 whelen. It's heavy too. It's made for short barrel hard use. Also, not as good as a CGS Helios.

Guess at this point I just need to see what I can even find in stock and try and decide. Anyone have experience shooting a 35 whelen suppressed to see if makes good difference?

any round can be suppressed...but unless you shoot a subsonic load all you are doing is quieting the shot at the barrel. You are still going to have the sound barrier crack

But that boom is extremely loud.

The crack is loud as well but a shot or two doesn’t hurt my my ears (actual pain) like an unsuppressed shot does.
