If you gun is shooting 1 inch low at 25 yds where should it hit at 100 yds and 300 yds?

I'm no expert but I think it all depends on what caliber you're using

Maybe on target at 100. Lot of factors.

But i will say at 25 yards, the bullet will be higher at 100 yards.

this, if its a small caliber you could be dead on further out in range, if a heavier caliber you could be 2'' lower further out

Depends on the caliber. Hard to tell though. If at all possible, site it in at 100.

this.... back up and take a big boy shot and then there will be no questioning where you will hit at 100 yards.

25 yds is too make sure you are around the bullseye at 100 yds.
Always use 100 yds as the minimun.

Nothing wrong with shooting at 25yds for a first time sight in. It helps get you on target quicker but once you are shooting good groups it is time to back up to 50 then 100. But unless you have ballistics info for your rounds you will definitely have to shoot at your intended zero distance a few times. i think my .270 is 1/2" low at 25yds, 1.5" high at 100 and dead on at 200 if i remember off hand.

maybe just maybe this guy has a space limitation of 75 feet. That would be awesome if he moves all the furniture out the middle of the double wide shooting across trailer.

One inch low at 25 will get you pretty close to right on at 100 with standard calibers but you'll need to fine tune it to whatever you want.

Here is a good rule of thumb for standard calibers like the .270, 30-06 and whole host of others. Sight your rifle in to be about two inches high at 100 yards. You'll be about dead on at 200 to 225, six to nine inches low at around 300 and twelve to fourteen low at 400.

With your rifle sighted in like that, you can aim "on hair" all the way out to 300 or so and have a managable drop all the way out to 400. It really simplifies things and takes the guesswork out of shooting at those ranges. Of course, you actually need to shoot at those ranges to practice and verify the drops and holdovers for your actual cartridge and load.

Also, a half inch to the right at 25 yards = 2 inches to the right at 100 yards, and 6 inches to the right at 300. Always see what your rifle will do at the farthest range you think you will ever shoot.

Tiger Fan,
You're probably pretty close, but go shoot that gun at 100 yds and find out.

My usual protocol is to:
1. Bore sight at home at 25 yds. I use this method. www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DUgB9J9Bt_Rs&sa=U&ei=euOqTsmtH6OGsgKw2ZnkDg&ved=0CBQQFjAA&usg=AFQjCNF-BeIscRGEVeVxYRbW2F8DTryoFQ
2. Using a good sandbag rest, shoot gun at 25 yds.
3. If the gun is shooting good enough at 25 yds to be on paper at 100 yds, I then move the target to 100 yds. If not, I'll make an adjustment and then move to 50 yds, if possible. I stay at 25 yds only if I think it may not be on paper at 50 yds after adjustments.
3. If I'm confident in the gun, I usually make adjustments at 50-100 yds after shooting one or two shots.
4. Shoot 3 shot group at 100 yds w/ final shooting.
5. Shoot 1-2 shots at further distances, depending on how far I expect to hunt w/ the gun.
