I need a machine for duck hunting in Arkansas. It is some gumbo mud. I’ve always preferred Honda machines, but recently I’ve been educated on Can Ams. Is that the way to go? Seems like Polaris are constantly being resold but I rarely ever see Hondas or can am being listed on Craigslist.

Also curious about the Mule and the Tracker- have heard mule is heavy as all get out and the tracker quality is not the same as the big brands.

I've had polaris and can am. I prefer the can am, but I just looked at the polaris 1500. I'm not gonna spend that much.

Really like my can am defender hd-10 better than the polaris.

Had a Mule and Ranger. Mukr hands down is the better workhorse and way more reliable. Ranger has a better ride and more fun to drive but Mule cost of ownership will be lower.

I’ve heard good things about cf motos. Supposed to be a good bit cheaper than the rest, too

I've had no issues with my Mule. I have the MX (mid size), so weight hasn't been an issue. Seems light to me.

Zero issues with my honda 1000-5. I like the paddle shifter.

I have no experience with other brands.

Polaris has had a lot more dealer stock over the last three years. Not sure it’s saying anything other than Polaris was/is popular and available. Even during the worst of the supply chain stuff you could order a Polaris and eventually get it, some Honda dealers wouldn’t even answer the phone.

Honda and Can Am are the best two machines. Can Am is a touch nicer and more expensive.

No personal experience with the can-ams but y’all must not use your Hondas much in this heat. Ran one all weekend and it’s miserable with the engine heat coming into the cab and any puddle sending steam up your back.

What cf moto dealership do you work at?

They are chinese hunks of shite with chinese wiring with ZERO protection against corrosion.

I wouldn't piss on one when it inevitably catches fire.

Honda and Yamaha have never figured this out.

But given he's duck hunting... A little warmth would be nice.

+1 for the Pioneer line, have had a 700 and 1000.

Can Ams are nice and very popular in Arky from what I've heard and seen. Prob good either way

Guy next to my MS property owned one. They are loud AF and it was always something broken on it.

Mules and the Kawasaki Terex seem to be more on the workhorse end of the side by side spectrum.

As an owner of a Mule, I don’t think it’s the bike for rice hunting.

They are tough and smooth riding but heavy AF for mud work.

You may buy one and it will be the best mud machine ever though.

Been running Canam in NELA sharkey clay since ‘19…only issue I’ve had is rats eating wires. Other than that it’ll eat that gumbo as long as it isn’t sitting on the frame. I’d got the xmr for bad mud and glad I did. Just got a regular defender with a cab for the GA property. It’s badass too but wouldn’t deal with that LA clay like the xmr.

I have an American Landmaster and live in NE Arkansas in boot sucking gumbo. It works well for me as a hunting and farm vehicle.
