I got my first pair of Costa's two days ago with the 580 glass lens'. As soon as I put them I was kicking myself for not getting them earlier. Simply put, these are the finest glasses I have ever put on.

If you want fishing glasses get the costas. Green mirror lenses for inshore/freshwater, blue for offshore.
This!!
I have 2 pair....green for inshore/blue for offshore
Best FISHING sunglasses out there. And I've tried Maui Jim's and Oakleys.

I want to get a new pair... I have the Hammerheads right now but I find they're a little too bulky and heavy. The sunglass tan is horrible with them
Let the ex-g/f talk me into that style since she was buying

They are definitely TFM these days but they won't be if you actually use them on the water and outdoors. Most of these frat **** just want the look not the function. You don't need costas to play beer pong and fist pump in Tigerland. Buy a pair and let them help you when you're outside.

My costas are much more comfortable
I have a pair of Costa Brine 580's w/blue mirror lenses and i wouldnt trade them for any other pair of glasses. They are the only pair of glasses ive found that i can wear all day and not get a headache. plus they really do make a difference when your out on the water - you can see shite other people can and my eyes feel a hell of a lot better after a day out on the gulf. That being said i'm sure maui jim makes some great glasses also. you just gotta go try em on and see what looks/feels best on you. I was once one of those anti-frat guys much like you but the costas are legit.
FYI....fix that falling off you head issue with some of these:

i agree...costa straps are "fratty" but go ahead and drop a $250 pair of sunglasses on the concrete and pit up the lenses. You'll learn quick. Its all about function, i could give half a rats arse about what people think of me based on what sunglasses i wear. I guess you could do what my coon arse uncles does - cut a piece of elastic tubing from his shop and stick a sac-a-lait cork on it.

If you're gonna get some croakies, do yourself a favor and buy/find some other brand than costa del mar. A little cheezy in my book. We all know what kind of shades you're wearing. To each his own though. Just sayin'

What I reccomend...
Also there is a way to test polarized lenses objectivley, I do it every day, I'll stick to Costas.

I am in the gulf a good bit. I have Costas and every now and then I will try on someone's glasses to compare- and they will do the same. Costas win every time. Mine are about 3 years old now, with no scratches on the lenses and no rust on the hinges.
Make sure you get glass lenses. They make a 580 lens that is not glass and it will scratch, plus it is not as clear as the glass lenses. I don't know what your vision is like, but they also make prescription lenses as well.

I have these and love them.

the mirror is just asthetics. It's the actual lens color that is useful when fishing certain environments. i.e. the green mirror is over a bronze/copper lens which is useful for the marsh. If you don't have mirror on your lens it won't affect the color you see with the sunglasses on. Just because you have a green mirror doesn't mean everything will look greener, it still looks copper. The mirror has nothing to do with seeing the water.
