so far...the only thing that grabbed my attention was the improved selection 1911's via different manufacturers and a couple AR variants...

I don't see why no one else is jacked up about the SR45. Besides the SR1911 commander or the Remington R1 Carry, it's one of my favorites.

I've just never been a big fan of Rugers pistols other than a few of their revolvers...

Any guy that says this has usually never shot an SR9 or SR40, or the compact versions.
I carry an SR9c daily and it is one of the best shooters out there.

Man I want one of everything.
Thanks for posting Bapple. I need to start saving money for new toys.

Haha, I just added a Surgeon General's Warning to the OP.

I feel the early p series ruined Rugers reputation ...I'm not saying I would never shoot some of their newer stuff...the 1911 SR9 or SR40... but IMO with better choices out there, why would I?
I personally like my Sig(s) but if I did decide to get a 1911 model it may not be a Sig either...it's just personal preference...

For the money, the SR9/SR40 or SR9c/SR40c is one of the best bangs for your buck out there.
I bought mine locally for $419 and it has been absolutely flawless over 5000-6000 rounds. Find me another handgun for around $400 bucks that is as easy to shoot as an SR9c.

Am I the only one that doesn't get the Glock 30S? They basically made the Glock 30 bigger, and are touting it as ideal for CC. What advantage would a bigger upper give you? And what's next? A Glock 26 with a 19 upper?

Glock is just too fricking stubborn. They refuse to give the populace what they really want - a single stack 9mm.

I have a feeling they'll have to eventually, but I feel like they'll troll us along the way. Their first single stack model will hold 13 rounds, and be roughly the same size as the Glock 17. Innovation.

I've paid cost for my Sig(s) through a gunsmith I know over the years so I can come pretty close to that benchmark...I'm not implying the new(er) Rugers aren't good guns...maybe they are...I just won't buy one in the near future when I still have what I feel are better choices...again...just personal preference.

There are always better choices. To this I ask...
How much are you willing to spend?
I think both my Beretta 90 two and my SW1911 are better made guns. But the Beretta was $700 and the 1911 was $1200. This is why I think the SR9c is a good buy - it's a good gun at an affordable price.
Not to rag on Sig though, because they make great guns as well. They are just at a completely different price point.

Wrong... they took a standard Glock 30 lower, and put a slimmer Glock 36 slide on it. So basically they slimmed down the upper have of a G30... and yes I think it's pretty pointless. I have a 30 and it's not all the hard to conceal as it is. I don't think a slightly slimmer frame will do much. Want I really want is a Glock rifle!
