I looked back through the forum to see if I could find a thread so if there was one or if has been discussed please excuse. I used to have a local restaurant here in FL that during the season would allow customer to place an order for live sacks and worked out for me to do a sack or two a year. That has since kind of gone by the wayside.

I know most of you have easy access to crawfish but if I were to overnight order is there a company as far as price/quality comparison any of you would recommend. I realize it is expensive mostly due to shipping. I have looked at sites such as Louisiana Crawfish Company, Cajun Grocers and Cajun Crawfish Company to name a few. Any info or recs is appreciated thanks

While i was living in Philadelphia i used cajun grocer. Ordered crawfish from them about 5 times and never had any problems with them getting to me safe and sound.

I used LA crawfish Co. this past weekend, timing was fast, crawfish were good and healthy. Kept them overnight on ice and only lost a few. Did the "select" size, which were decent size mostly medium, couple of big ones. Overall happy with the process. They send boil spice powder, and that's all I used (what came with it), would definitly recommend adding in some liquid boil to kick it up a notch.

Also worth noting that the shipping was really fast. I ordered at about 2:00 Friday, was at my house the next morning at 11:00.

Louisiana Crawfish Co. Used them to ship to Sarasota before . They seem to have the process down.

Edit: Also did Select as the person above.

I appreciate the responses. Actually La Crawfish Co was one I was looking at ...They have a "Spring Special" 30lb sack upgraded to Select for $149.99 Priority overnight shipped. I was figuring that was about right. I was more worried about size and loss more than anything. Sounds good though. Again, responses appreciated

Not that you need it, but here's another vote for LA Crawfish Co. A couple weeks back, got a field run special. Only thing I would have done differently is have them delivered the day I was going to boil rather than the day before. Thats more on my 'keeping them alive' efforts than it is on them. Only lost a few. Good quality

Were you pleased with the sizes of the field run? It's a $20 difference between that and select for what I was looking at. I was just curious as to how much of a real difference there actually is between the two.

I would pay an extra $20 for Selects personally. If I am having them shipped they damn well better be good size.

Another vote for LA crawfish Co. Use them every year for 40-50 lbs. Always get select and have never had a problem.
Have then shipped to arrive the same day you plan to boil them.

We were happy with the size, but take into account we’re usually just thrilled to get them live over here

I have 120 pounds coming in to Charlotte via Southwest freight on Friday. Lacrawfish.com hasn't let me down and I've ordered with them a few times now.
Once, I even had the wrong date on my order that I needed on a Saturday and didn't realized it until Thursday. I called and they expedited the order. It arrived Saturday morning and they waived the weekend shipping fee.

Would like to say thanks to everyone again. Went with La Crawfish on a delivery to east Florida for last Friday morning. Received via Fedex around 0930 local time. Went with the select. They were great size, well packed and minimal loss. Would recommend from this transaction and if you are like some of us and forced to have them shipped, then this way I can't complain.

La Crawfish and Cajun Crawfish are about the same. Pick which ever is cheaper for what you want. I have a 10 lbs free this year, so I am going with La Crawfish.

LA Crawfish for me too, baw. Have had them shipped to the middle of no where in the western North Carolina mountains many times. Never an issue, even here.
