I'd imagine the extra bearings make it smoother, but they're already pretty smooth to begin with.

My dad bought a Calcutta 151 when I was 4yrs old (20 yrs ago). Today, that is the main reel I use and it still works like the day he bought it.

That's how my 250 my grandpa gave me was. It was abused and finally bit the dust.

20yrs of saltwater use, I have never taken it apart to clean it. Just rinsed with fresh water and sprayed with reel magic. Still an incredible reel

One last reason to buy one. They sure are pretty.

I've got a couple of those. My crank on my 4600 is bent, so I need to fix that. My drag star butts against it when I tighten it.

Chronarch. I only use mine in the salt water, and it's great. They're loaded with stainless parts and I think they're actually rated for saltwater.

The very best thing to do is get a refurbished Calcutta. I have bought 3 of those. $100 bucks each. Can't tell you where I get them because I need a few more.

Just a 200B. I really liked the D's but couldn't bring myself to drop $350 on a reel right now.
I have a custom rod order in at the moment but may end up canceling, the turnaround is 3-5 weeks at the moment.

Kajun limb by Doug blacklock. They're great for the money. I will probably need my rod within 5 weeks though.
