First off, whether I use Thompson's or something else can I apply using spray gun? If not, consider this thread moot because no way I'm painting all that.
What product(s) do you recommend.

There have been a couple threads lately, let me see if I can find them. TWP gets good reviews...

I could do that on the flat part but I have a large section with railing and also several steps at different spots.

Apply with 6" foam paint rollers. It goes on like butter...

That dang "Barefooting" commercial that comes on 18 times a night has almost convinced me to buy some deck over... and I don't even own a deck.

I just did my above ground pool deck - I have used BEHR semi transparent all in one stain and sealer the past 2 times and it has worked great - make sure you do a good job cleaning and don't use a power washer. I used BEHR cleaner this time as well. It can be sprayed on, I used a stain pad for decking and a brush and rag for the handrails and bannisters..

What does one suggest for sealing an outdoor bar made from 2x6's? Would deck sealant work well for that as well?
Thanks

PPG/Pittsburgh Paints/Porter Paints has a really nice deck stain.
Both semi-transparent and a solid color stain.
Very high quality.

I have a nice play house for my kids that long over due on a sealant. Do I just use a pressure washer on a low setting with bleach, then let it dry before I apply sealant? Or should I simply apply bleach with a sprayer then brush and rinse?

can you give it a light sand?
Posted on 5/28/14 at 11:48 am to Chad504boy
Heck no, this thing is huge. I will let it rot before I sand it

There is some stuff that Sherwin Williams sells. Its like Thompson's on steroids. It's what the commercial guys use. But you have to get it at a S/W commercial store. I bought it at the NOLA commercial store off of Jefferson Hwy. I sprayed it on with a garden sprayer.

For the railing, get some staining sponges. When I refurbished my deck a few years ago, that's what I used on those. I actually installed new railings, some of those pre-fab ones from Lowe's that are in 8 foot lengths, so I stained/sealed them before putting them on the posts. I just propped it up against the edge of a folding table in my basement and dipped the sponge and worked it around the railings by hand. I had about 7 different sections to do, and by the time I finished the last one I started back on the first one for the second coat. It is a lot of stroking (but we should all be used to that by now) but it went by in about 2 hours, and that includes breaks to go grab another beer from the fridge I keep stocked down there.
