What is your opinion of the brand and the boats they put out? I have a boat that I found a decent deal on.

Had access to 7 - 24 foot CC's with 150s for a couple of years and they fished fine...the finishes were typical of the price range. I suspect they are about as well built as any boat in that price range...the older Carolina Skiffs were built as well as any of that type of boat, especially in the price range. Lots of those originals still being used commercially...beat up and ugly but still more or less keeping the water separated from the occupants. I would buy one if the price was right...but I have owned good boats and not so good...if I make it back to the hill I feel like I won....

I’ve always found that Carolina Skiffs ride hard in even teh smallest surf. Good only for the protected marsh and not on windy days. But they do tend to ride high.

The Sea Chaser line is a V hull.
Carolina Skiff is a flat bottom.

i recently considered a carolina skiff center console. The salesman was upfront and said it was a modified utility hull. He also has frontier and seahunt in stock. He spoke really highly of the seahunts. He did not have any available forsale but i ended up finding a used one locally. It rides great for what i need it for.

I have a 19 foot seachaser manufactured in the early 2000s. Bee at the front but flat at the back. Very much a bay boat and even then it can ride rough and beat you up just crossing wakes. On the plus side it is roomy for the size, can go in shallow water, and scoots with a 115 four stroke on it while also being really fuel efficient. If you are looking to go offshore get a boat with a more aggressive vee. Can’t speak about the longer seachaser models from experience but as I understand it they are a little better in a chop but not the first choice for a smooth dry ride.

Which one are you looking at? I have a 2004 2100rg and it is a great boat but it is not made anymore. Of course it’s a def a no frills fishing boat but it is perfect for what we do. I’ve had her 75 miles offshore and in 1.5’ of water in the marsh. 9’ beam and rides fantastic I’ll put her ride up against anything under 26’. Very smooth and dry rarely ever pounds at all. Just sold the old 225 ocean pro that still runs like a top and repowering with a new 225 zuke now. She ain’t gonna win any beauty contests but I’ve been riding around on her for 20 years and I don’t want anything else.
