Just do away with the rail. Buy bases and rings to fit the model of your gun. Need to go with a higher rise of ring to maybe get more clearance between barrel and scope.

Maybe this will help explain it Chad, how far is it off anyway? LINK

You need new bases that screw to the receiver and rings that attach to those.

DNZ Game Reaper
Get the high mounts if that's a 50mm objective
ETA - one peice base and bottom part of the ring means you don't have to worry about torquing the scope off canter. These are gun specific so predrilled holes will line up.

It means that your rings may not be securing your scope and need to be lapped to ensure they clamp correctly - the other solution is to buy new bases and rings and have someone that has the right tools install it for you - you can do it yoursel with ring alignment rods and lapping compound if you have a gun vice.

I don't understand the issue. Take the screws out, put some loctite on them and rezero the rifle. Get a torque wrench and do it right.
If you want to replace stuff I'd buy some Talley lightweight rings and mounts. The scope is fine if you had to tighten the ri gs and mounts.
Lapping rings is dumb, you don't need to lap quality stuff.
Don't wait until the end of the season, that's dumb as well.

1 piece or two piece base? what brand bases/rings? could be a gazillion things. did you loctite the screws on the base(s)?

just saw the pics. 3/8" grooved receivers suck. chunk those rings (im guessing theyre the factory tikka rings too which are pos)
buy some DNZs. i use em on all my rifles, and theyre the preferred option when i mount scopes at work. $60-$70 a set.
also, toss that pos scope

Chad,
Is the gun not holding zero?
If so, are you sure it's a scope problem?
Is the scope moving (forward) during recoil? If it is, you might can stop, or at least minimize, frontward scope movement by mounting the rear edge of the front ring against the front edge of the turret.
Is the scope moving clockwise/counterclockwise?
Sounds like you need to remount the rings or try different rings. What kind of gun is that? It looks as if it has an integral dovetail for the rings, kinda like 22 LR's do, but it's a 30-06. I don't know what kind of rings those are, but I'm never been partial to rings w/ a vertical split like those. Lapping the scope rings is a good idea to improve accuracy and minimize scope stress/movement, but doesn't work well w/ vertical split rings like yours.
1. Rule out a problem w/ the scope by changing to a scope you already know to be RELIABLE.
2.Mount the rings. I don't use Loc-Tite on the rings. Be sure the screws attaching the upper/lower rings are equally tightened. If you can, I suggest using a torque wrench.
3. Personally, the only scope rings I use now days are Burris Signature Z-Rings (the ones w/ plastic inserts). I only lap the rings when if I'm not using Signature rings.

Yeah I dont trust the tikka rail. Definitely get a good base and rings. I got Weaver 2 PC base and burris zee rings. I like them so far.
I was able to fit a 50mm scope on medium height rings, but its paper close like yours.
