Used one this weekend and was impressed. If you own/use one, what has been your experience? This brand have any issues or problems I should know about?

TIA

ah the trouble with the written word.
I thought your wife decided she liked cutting the grass and you never see her.

I own a turf tiger and tiger cub. No real issues besides the common crap that breaks with using them on a regular basis. They are one of toughest and take a lot of abuse. Its more about which engine you get on them.

Seriously though. It's on my list to look at when the time is right. So is Kubota, Dixie Chopper, and The orange bad boy or something like that.

Have had mine for 9 years no issues, 400 hours.
Got the Cub version with the 48 inch deck. Considered the bigger one, but wanted to be able to fit between trees and other yard stuff.

Tiger cat with the 52" deck. 250ish hours and couldn't be more happy.

I've got a Kubota ZG23 I purchased in '04. I've never had the first issue with it. Just used the Scag and was really impressed with the quality of the cut and speed of the machine. I'm not crazy about not having the hydraulic lift on the deck, but the Scag is slightly cheaper than the comparable Kubota I looked at.

i have a 60" turf tiger with 35hp briggs vanguard
when shopping, try to pair the biggest engine with the smallest deck that will work for you

my only complaint is that i didnt spend the few extra bucks for the diesel. otherwise it is a brick-shithouse beast that will mow as fast as you want

i mow 6 acres of bahia 2x a month

The Kubota Commanders are better than the Scags, IMO. Wayyyy faster travel speed, don't scalp as easily, and are more user-friendly (larger operator area, fuel gauge, etc). I have both here in my shop and could walk you through each and compare.

ETA: I do prefer the Kawasaki to the Kohler engines

Hot dang. How often you have to sharpen your blades? I know from when we had cattle/cut hay, bahia is tough on blades (cow's teeth too).
