My dad caught a few this morning fishing in the Mecca on the Ouachita River in some pretty deep water. Basically enough to break the Fry Daddy out. Water is still cold for the SacaCrappiPerch to really get on a good bite.

I start my yearly bayou trips next weekend. May be one week or so early given this winter we had, but I don't want to be one week late.

Mid to late February.Once it starts, I can count on 3-5 straight weekends. 2012 was screwed up though and it never worked.

Foot and I had a trip last year where the cork could be set at 3". If I'm too early, I can still catch a lunch-sac in the channels.

Any catching them yet?
Yet? On yo yos we've been catching them since December. It's getting to the end at Chicot. We caught two bass last night that weight 3-4 lbs.

The BREC employee that manages Forest Park claims he has seen people pulling out decent Sac-au-lait. I've never had any luck, pond seems too small to me.
