Still getting bucks on feeders at night. Buddy killed a good 8 yesterday. Hocks were soaked and he had scars on his neck from a fight

All of our deer have hocks lit up but majority of does aren’t yet hot. Starting to see better bucks fricking up and being on camera around 545-6 instead of 3 am

I’m very excited about this year. The past few years the rut has been very late. My favorite time to hunt is post rut when the bucks get really dumb. We haven’t been able to hunt it as the rut has been 3rd-4th week in January.

The past 3 days we’ve had 6 and young 8s chasing does and locking up fighting.

Just got home from 5 days in Woodville. 8 hunters for 5 days and not a single deer was killed. I was the only person that even saw a buck. Friday morning I had 4 does run in the bottom I was hunting followed by a 6 point and a spike. Minutes later an 8 point came in from the other direction. Looking back I should have shot the 8 but I passed on him. The does finally left behind me after 15 minutes and the 3 bucks left in the opposite direction 15 minutes after that. Never saw the Bucks chasing but the 2 smaller ones followed the does in so I assume they were chasing from the way the does came in. The last 3 hunts not a single deer was Seen by anyone spread across 2700 acres. I wish I could go back next weekend but it's too far for me go 2 weeks in a row.
