My brother asked me today if I'd be interested in buying another AR. I said not really, he said his BIL wants to get rid of his and would take 575.00 for it. 5 mags and rails installed on it plus 200-300 rounds. Never been fired.

Would you jump on that or is is it meh? Looking online they retail for about 799.00 for the base model.

It's a buyers market and that gun isn't $799 anywhere.

I've found it for $479 ( grabagun)

Ammmo is worth (depending on what it is) around .30/round

What do you mean it's had rails installed? Does it have a new handguard?

I have one and it's a fine shooting gun but $450 is more the price range

5 mags = $50

300 rounds = $100

Does he have any optics?

Agreed with others - the Ruger AR556 is accurate and reliable but the AR market is saturated right now (buyer's market indeed). I'd stay below $500 on the offer unless it has a really nice optic mounted on it, which I highly doubt.

The price he is quoting is about right. Yeah, he might find a better deal for a few bucks less, but it’s a good deal. Gun buyer has them from time to time for $499 but not without all that extra stuff

The quality is pretty good.
