Love to buy one but not at the prices collectors are asking for them. Prices on Shane’s calls rival those hand turned by Butch Richenback from Rich-N-Tone and he passed away in 2015.

Talked to a guy the other day who came by my shop who owns an Alvin Taylor aluminum call. No telling what that thing is worth. I think he only made like 7 of them.

Taylor Made’s are up there too. Very collectible. That was the preferred call east of the White River. I have a couple Gaston Custom Calls and Alvin passed down his call making techniques to David Gaston.

Grover Knoll (Cache River Calls) in Clarendon, AR. makes a very nice call too.

I have to seriously disagree with you on this on baw! There is a huge difference between a $30 academy special compared to like a JJ, RNT or Rolling Thunder

Yea David makes a good call. He seems like a good guy the times I have talked to him. Have a Wayne Betts call that sounds pretty good also. Probably the only West Coast call that I have.

I have a Betts too and it sounds great. Wayne passed away about a year ago. He was from Rogers, AR.

Yeah, David and Mrs. Dottie are extremely nice. First met them when I was running the Sporting Collectibles tent at the World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest.

Great sounding call, especially the double reed, and highly collectible.

I have a double reed wooden call I bought from Shane at a Sportsman Show in BR back in the 90's. I think I paid $60 for it at the time but never really hunted with it because I couldn't get it to sound just right.

I might try to put it up on Ebay and see what I can get for it.

I'd expect you to be pleased with the results. For collectors, these calls shine like a diamond in a goat's arse. The economy can affect who's offering of course but Shane's calls tend to find the right buyer pretty quickly.

I'd like to add a Roten to my small collection, along with an Echo from the 90s.

I always thought he was from California. He was living in San Pablo when he made my call.

Shane makes/made an awesome call. Mine are definitely not for sale. Takes LOTS of back pressure, but if you can get up there, she’ll rip with the very best of them. Nice guy too.

I talked to Shane a few weeks ago. He does not even duck hunt anymore. He’s got a restaurant in Mansfield, La.

Not sure where he grew up, but Wayne Betts lived and died in Rogers, AR. He is recognized as an Arkansas Call Maker.

The one I have is the molded plastic call. Doubt that’s what you are looking for.
