My two favorites are:

Shimano Crucial (7' HM) w/ Shimano Curado 200E7
G-Loomis CBR 845 w/ Shimano Curado 200E5

Both are used for bass fishing. The Crucial allows me to use almost any technique at any time. The Loomis will handle up to mid-depth crankbaits. I can fish how I want when I want where I want without wondering if my gear can handle it.

Those G. Loomis Greenwater rods look so badass but I would never spend that kind of money on a fishing rod. Falcon FTW!

I'm in the same boat.
You should check out the Dobyns Savvy series next time you're in the market for a rod. For being almost in the same price range as the Lowriders I'm really impressed with mine. A buddy talked me into getting it and I'm glad I did.
Also the Dobyns Champions and champion extremes are incredible, but they cost just as much as Loomis

The Falcon broke? A buddy of mine had just bought a 6'10" MH Lowrider and on something like the 10th cast the top 6" or so snapped off. The warranty process seemed to be a bit of a bitch.

Yep. Bought it at Cabela's when I worked there and got it for like $30. Warranty was too much of a hassle and I didn't have receipts. I replaced it with a $40 CastAway from Academy and its almost as nice.

Does anybody have a Carrot Stix? I thought they were pretty much a crock of shite, but I've been messing with them in the stores and they seem badass. Super light and seem like they'd make a great worm rod. May have to buy one.

My dad has the loomis i have falcons and all stars. I am going to get me a new calcutta w/ a loomis though. The only time you can really tell a difference IMO is during the winter when fishing real slow and the fish just mouth the bait.

A good thing about the G Loomis is he has broken 2 of them and sent them back and had them both replaced for free.

I do not, but I heard from people they were mostly hype. I also remember reading in multiple places that they broke easily, but they may have improved that from when they were first selling them. I don't own one so take it with a grain of salt, but they do feel incredibly light.

I've gotten 2 falcon rods replaced at Academy. Recently bought one of the new Falcon Coastal rods. The dark green color looks awesome in the sun and on the water. Was catching all the trout on my original so I'm not too sure how it feels during intense catching. So far so good though. Love the action and weight is well balanced for my citica.

I'm kind of worried about 2 of my rods because I bought one used and another through a friend who has a deal, and have reciepts for neither.

Funny thing about my buddy with the broken falcon, he called them and they were kind of dicks about it, saying that they'll decide whether it was a defect in worksmanship or not. We were at the Bassmaster Classic expo in nola, and went by the Falcon booth. He was talking to a rep and said "yea falcon rods are nice, but the warranty kind of sucks don't it". Every rep's face just dropped and they started freaking out about it. It was hilarious.

I was seriously considering picking one of these up when I start working this summer and putting a Revo Inshore on it. Would you recommend the rod?

I have never broken a rod. Falcons are great I have never had a problem with mine. I will have to go to Academy and check out that dark green one.

About 10 years ago i had cut my hand at work and took the following friday off to go fishing. Had a hard time casting with the cut but long story short I reacted to a swirling fish and casted to it in doing so the nob hit my cut and I let go of a calcutta 200 on a G Loomis. Went back to my camp to meet my dad at noon and had to tell him one of his fav combos was at the bottom of deer bayou. We went back out there and waded for it for 2 hours and never found it...basically threw $400 over the side. I know csb.

To counteract that story, one of my younger neighbor's friends was fishing down blind river and hooked what he thought was a stick or something. Got it to the boat and it was a Curado on a Loomis. The reel was shot, but he cleaned up the rod and it was fine. I wish I had luck like that

I always recommend the falcons. I personally like a MH action when inshore, but it's definitely got a great feel to it. Works really well in freshwater as well which is always a plus since all my combos pull double duty.

Yea I'm a little worried about putting my revos in saltwater, even though I know the newer ones made with xcraftic alloy can handle it.
I'm thinking about getting a 7' M for trout, and I can use it with cranks for bass fishing as well.

As long as you rinse them off really well with freshwater as soon as you can they will be okay. My citica has been going back and forth for a few years and it's still very smooth on both casts and retrieves.

I had Falcon replace 4 rods a couple months ago. You mail in the piece of rod above handle with description, and for $25-$35 they will send you a new rod no questions asked. The whole process took about 3 weeks from when I sent them in till my new rods came in.

Did you have to send receipts with them?

The academy on Siegen has replaced mine without a receipt but I started to keep mine so they will replace 100% of the time. The Academy on Airline says you have to send them to Falcon (BS).

Conclusion: Siegen Academy >>>>>> Airline Academy

No. Since there is no Academy close to me. I called Falcon to see about replacing one I had just broken that was pretty new, service rep from Falcon told me this and I cleaned out the closet.
