seems like there is a forcefield wall or something about 50 yards out

stop pissin in the wind. gotta make a move would be my call. One of my marsh blinds that had been badass for 15+ years started getting cattails infront of it about 5 yrs ago. man i fought it and fought it but finally said screw it and built a platform blind 200 yrds away. paid off instantly. banks and the contours of ponds change all the time. even something thats not in ur field can change flight patterns away from ur blind. 1 year then maybe its a freak thing but year after year then its time to make a change. get some people wt strong backs and weak minds. promise em a few hunts. buy lunch and beer and move it.

geese want an open field period. the best place for geese is allways smack dab in the middle of any field. tree lines are fun for passing shots but they decoy in the middle.

ducks can and will land anywhere. however depending on the sun and wind (extremely important) backing up to the trees might not be a good call. if ur best hunting is on cold front days put that blind so the north winds at ur back. if its warm days the opposite.

remember by the time ducks and geese make it down here in november they have been shot at since sept 1st all the way from canada. the shadows might make them leary from the trees. move the blind and use that to ur advantage.

sorry for the long post, but i live and breath waterfowl hunting.

Grass or no grass or cut grass as long as everything is symmetrical. Lots of folks "beef" up the levee around the blind which gives it a look of a snake with a rabbit in its gut. That is no good

---------------blind----------------

From the air it should look more like:

===================blind==============

When ducks get low and are seeing an elevation shot of your blind it should also be symmetrical in elevations.

_____________________blind________________
The above is no good

It needs to be more like:

----------------blind---------------------

We ended up making the move. The other blind is actually at the edge of the treeline, only slowing me down on shots directly behind me. Had to give a little to get a little. I have 3 pits total (1 dry), and 2 raised blinds. My other raised blind sits near the big levee running the length of my farm. Good spot, but the only drawback is that on the other side of that levee is a ditch with buckbrush that is very popular but just out of range. These days I usually load up a layout blind on the wheeler and just lay in random spots with a jerk string and do pretty decent. It has definately become more "hunting" than "shooting" the last few years.
