I'd try to negotiate with your forester, etc to get a bag of seedlings and a dibble and plant it this winter. 30 min to plant 70 trees and that's fat gringo time t & e. I think pine seedlings are what, $.10 each?

Deer hunting brings out the worst in people. Very few realize they are the lowest rung of importance in the timber business. If you give an inch they'll take a mile.

Trees are cheap yes. can't just go replant them because the other trees are a different age class They will outcompete the newly planted ones and eventually shade them out

But that is not replacing what was destroyed, instead offer to buy 70 3 year old pine trees and go out there with a post hole digger and plant those, now that is really not doable and that is where the large fine is coming from.

Sure am. I used to have some hardwood land in TN KY and MO. But I dropped that when the travel got too much. I stick close to home in MS, LA, AL.

got any names of someone who could look over my property (Southwest Mississippi) and make some recommendations on timber management? 124 acres in Walthall county, recently acquired, ~25% SMZ hardwoods, the remainder in natural regeneration mix about 10 years old

would also like to get recommendations on care of multiple pecan and fruit trees

I would think all these hunting clubs or owners of said land would have trail cameras all over (at least on the entrances).

Ok have Wick text me your name and number and I will give you a shout. I will be at my farm in Port Gibson this weekend. Happy to ride down there and meet you. If this weekend isn't good, then maybe next weekend. Or the week is fine too. I am more or less around for the month of August. Gone to my sawmills 2-3 days a week is about all.

not the if it costs me 250 bucks s year so they can keep breaking the rules. I'd rather pay extra and have 4 fewer shithead members
