Replacing Boards On A Trailer

I’m replacing my boards on my utility trailer tomorrow. I am using treated wood but I would also like to use a sealer. Last time I used Thompson Water Seal. Any other suggestions?

Used motor oil.

I’m curious, if using pressure treated lumber, why would you need to use anything else. Boards on my BigTex lasted 15 years parked in the weather, I’m thinking that’s not too bad?

I’m just trying to get more life out of my boards.

1/2 used diesel oil and 1/2 diesel should last for 3-4 years

This works great.

I put a water based polyurethane finish over the new wood once I stained it for the color I wanted (which was slightly darker than natural).

I bought a new gooseneck last week. I’ll be treating the boards with 50/50 used oil and diesel mix. They should last a long time out of the weather.

How long does it take to dry? My trailer sits outside and it’s going to rain tomorrow.

Agree with the other guys. 50/50 used motor oil and diesel. I do mine every other year. 10 year old trailer that I haul a 100hp tractor. Boards are in great shape still.
