I would never own a Freedom Group Remington. MSRP is like $1400 which is ridiculous. Get a Benelli SBE II, M2, or Super Vinci or get a beretta a400 and call it a day.

Well then get a Benelli , in all seriousness, I hear from a ton of people who love the versa max. I just hate newer remington guns and refuse to buy them. Seriously, any Benelli I listed is far better than the Versa Max.

Look and see if you can find a published weight on it.

I have one. Gonna be my 3rd season with it. It's a little heavier, but I think it helps in that it kicks like a .22. Never jammed once. Would buy again. Been a Remington shotty guy since I was a kid. Have an 870 super mag 12g as a backup now and an 870 20g for my 5yo. My only regret is not getting camo.

Shot one for a year. Never jamed once and kicks less then any shotgun I ever shot. Got the beretta A400 towards the end of the year last year. Was able to make 3 hunts with it and I like it so far too.

Best shotgun I have ever shot. Never jams. I have a 20 ga. that kicks harder.
Wouldn't trade it for any other gun.

Everybody I know that has one loves it. However, I couldn't for the life of me spend that kind of $$$$$ on a Remington when I could own a Beretta.

I agree with MWP. Don't ever hear anything bad from owners, but at that price point it just makes more sense to stick with Beretta/Benelli

The price was $1299, 2 years ago when i bought mine and I ended up only paying $850 including tax. Sale, 10% off flier, mail in reabate, Cabelas points...and since I've never had a Beretta/Benelli, I stuck with what myself and most others grew up using.

I wouldnt knock another brand unless I had a chance to test it myself, but 850 compared to 1850 is a lot easier pull the trigger on.

You can't really count cabelas points and 10% off unless they only counted towards the Versa Max. You could have gotten a Beretta/Benelli for cheaper than list as well.

I know, I couldve gotten one down to about 14-1500. But in that case I wouldve tried the A5, which wasnt out yet, before the other B's.

I grew up shooting it, and that's the main reason. Rebel without a cause I guess.

I have a buddy who won a Vmax in a drawing and loves it. He is a B guy, but said, other than the weight it's just as good.
