only oem factory wires have the numbers
aftermarkets you got to sort longest to shortest then match them up as close as you can. aftermarkets are most often 1"-2" longer then the oems

Is yours an older model with an actual distributor cap or a new model with wires the same length that go from the electric modules on top of the intake manifold to the plugs?
If the former, it should be numbered to match the timing on the distributor with the proper piston chamber. Also each wire will be a different length. If the latter, it doesn’t matter because they’re all the same length and the timing is done by computer

I don’t remember making love to the engine of my old truck like I had to with this truck, especially doing the # 7,8 plugs. Other than feeling violated everything went well.
Wait until you decide to change the spark plugs. You'll likely need a couple swivels, extensions, valiums and a few beers to wash them down so they take better effect.

That’s what I did My question was about wires but I did the plugs also. I had to dry hump the alternator while doing the # 7

Did you try jacking up the frame, taking off the wheels, and going through the fender well? I usually like that better.

I’d rather make love to the alternator

You might change your mind if you catch some AC/DC/VD.
Seriously though, I'm old, I'd rather do anything than climb up and lay there on top of the engine anymore.
I had to fix the supply line on my toilet today, it was leaking. Toilet is tucked into a little space right up against the ceramic wall of the shower. Had to hug the toilet, and reach around do everything blind. Geez, I hate that kind of stuff.

What you mean? I did unplug the battery. Not saying you are wrong though. I’ll remember what you said next time, but it will be another 8-10 years before I do it again, hopefully.

I was just making a joke, since you said "making love to the alternator". That's the way to do it when you are young, and shite don't hurt so bad.

I’m slow today. Ready for the draft and had a few drinks while doing the plugs

Enjoy it, having my first drink in 4 weeks, right now.

I have an 11 Silverado with a 5.3. All of the aftermarket wires were the same length. You’re gonna want a universal joint and some extensions for the back ones. A little anti seize on the plugs and some dielectric grease on the boots may save you some headaches down the road when you do it again.

oh,(speaking of personal drivers) With the exception of my wife's car, I only have 1 newer POS that is hard to work on. It's a 2004 Impala, that use to be my wife's car. I'm gonna dog it until it dies.
Everything else I have, are old trucks and kind of old SUVs.
