The part about the Catholic Church bringing in the Vietnamese and buying them fishing boats I found really interesting. I wonder if there’s any truth to it

Alamo Bay was real. I lived in Rockport when that was going down.

100% Truth
Catholic Charities (NGO$) has been importing parishioners for decades with our tax $$$.
Grand Isle & Intercoastal City had a large Charlie Company in the early 90’s. SBA loans for shrimp boats were easy for them to get and had easy forgiveness upon default.
In G.I. They had running gun battles between the natives and Charlie Company shrimp boats daily. Many wheelhouse windows died but to my knowledge zero deaths occurred. Eventually Charlie Company left GI, not sure if they are still shrimping out of IC.
Majority of the crabbers in Bridge City Tx are Charlie.

Why do low info people always make everything the Catholic Churches fault.

The fricking US government did all of that. Swamp rats have hated the Vietnamese since they got here. It goes back to the mentality that is still very much alive today. People in South Louisiana coast lines thing everything that walks, crawls or swims is there's, and they will try to kill you if you try to enjoy the bounty God has given to this great area.

A quick google search shows the Catholic Church and Catholic charities played a vital role in settling Vietnamese refugees in south la and setting them up as fishermen. Looks like the only low info person in this thread is you.

One of CC’s main function recently was to set up the invaders with food assistance (ebt/snap/afdc/wic), section 8, Medicaid, phones & monthly cash.
Treasonous imo

You go to Bayou La Batre, AL which is where all Bama shrimping fleet is out of and almost 100% of them are Vietnamese.

I hunt a place in north Louisiana where the Vietnamese come up during the either sex days. You can’t do drives obviously but after a few years I started figuring what was happening. The shooting would start on one end and get progressively closer throughout the day.

Basically they have people set up all over the woods and a group of them “still hunt” starting at a bayou and work their way north

They kill the hell out of some deer each year. Bambi don’t get cut any slack either. Brown and down

One of my clients is a shrimp processor down there. Over 90% of his Gulf shrimp are bought off local Vietnamese boats. They really took over what Bubba had.

You Catholics sure are defensive. There are plenty of Catholic publications that support what he said. 64 parishes being one of them

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) was historically the largest faith-based international partner of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), with up to half of its $1.5 billion budget supplied by government funding for global food, healthcare, and humanitarian programs.

The Department of Homeland Security suspended Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley (CCRGV) from receiving federal grants for six years due to alleged grant misuse. Meanwhile, USAID funds international Caritas groups to support migrants abroad, and Texas state officials continue investigating faith-based nonprofits operating at the border

I’m Baptist but don’t agree with 100% of the SBC nor should anyone.
Back to the OP post, you can see that the outlaw does have some remorse. He knows deep down his actions hurt the estuary.
