They're not hard to catch, then kill it, process it and eat the damn thing. I would guess around 35-40 lbs. of meat on a healthy 8 ft. gator

My cousin popped a 9 footer a few years ago with his .17 on his private pond. He then took his boat and treble hook and snagged it. He dragged it to shore and hooked it up to his tractor. He took it to his shop and began processing it.
Once again, allegedly of course.

In a developed neighborhood, I’d just contact WLF and let them handle it legally like another poster said.
