Keep it under 1K. Will be used for birds pretty much exclusively. 30th b-day gift for this guy. Thanks!

Yea I personally would go for an 870 wingmaster, but that's not what the cool kids are shooting these days

good mixture of both. I would like something good at both, don't want/need more than one laying around.

Duck hunting? Spend the extra $ and get a SBE. You will never regret it.

I got a 1 year old man, plus the wife would never allow it. I agree, fine firearm.

Buy used.
Lots of people selling a few years old good condition shot guns for this years season. I love my weatherby SAS field 12g 3" 28" barrel for duck and dove hunting.
I also love my Remington 1100 28" for squirrel hunting.
I have an Ithica 28" that I don't shoot often.

Next gun will be something synthetic to not care so much for while in the weather and mud. Benelli Super Black Eagle II probably.
I keep shotguns for a while so don't mind spending some on my next one this year

The old 870's were great, but I have had problems with mine I got a few years ago. Maybe get a browning BPS

Check for special offers on the website. I got the tax back on mine, and got the check in 2 weeks.
ETA: I had a $30 coupon for the store as well, cot me $970 when all said and done.

Is it a wingmaster?

OP, I think 1100's are about $900 new. Used ones are EVERYWHERE.

Yep

My 1960s 1100 shoots way better than the one we have from the late 80s. For some reason it doesn't compare

Beretta 390. I have 4 different 12 gauges and that is my go to.
