Range Help?

I have been going to a range to practice for my CC test. I am shooting low and to the left. In order to hit the center of the target I have to air high (top or last ring) and to the right. I am shooting at a 12" x 12" target seven yards away. My handgun sights are not adjustable.
What am I doing wrong?

Nothing…pistol sights are crap.

You need to dry fire everyday (no mag and unloaded). It will help tremendously. Know your trigger feel and get your grip set up you like. Practice everyday and try to squeeze the trigger with minimal movement.
ETA: low and left is normal in your circumstances.

I did this for several months. Still "off" with live rounds. But I know that if I aim 2 inches right and low, I'll hit exactly where I want...with that gun, at least. So to me, I'm good. I know how to hit what I want. There is probably some mechanical or other adjustments that could be made, but if I'm repeatable and hit what I'm trying to, I figure that is the objective.

You’re jerking or not squeezing the trigger

I found out I was left eye dominant. Started shooting pistol with left hand and became way more accurate. Good luck!

But seriously, it could be the sights, it could be you. I have had a few pistols over the years that I’ve had to make minor adjustments to the windage though.
How low and to the left are we talking?
What type and caliber gun are you shooting?

Get one or two experienced shooters to fire the handgun from the same distance that you are shooting from - Their results should tell you whether it is the gun or you. If it is the gun, even though there are no windage/elevation adjustments on the firearm, a gunsmith would almost certainly be able to adjust the sights. If it is you, take a few lessons from a good instructor.
