while talking to the salesman
What are the odds said salesman was banking or hoping you didn't have the parts or wasn't willing to return it back stock just to have a reason to offer you less on trade in.
What im trying to say is that deleted trucks are sold all the time by dealers. I'd also say now more than ever some will only want to buy a truck already deleted. Again, the market is big.
quote:as already mentioned by pepperidge. If you are in the south louisiana area PPEI by Kory Willis would be the local Duramax specialist by the way. Hes been the leader in the duramax world in terms of turning. I may would pay him a visit in person if you purchase the truck. If he wont help you im sure he will point you to someone who will.
slim chance

I did a full egr delete with 4” straight pipe on mine two years ago and haven’t looked back. I did keep the stock tip on the exhaust so unless I get on it you wouldn’t know. But you hear the turbo whistle and deeper grumble at idle. Just about every diesel I pass here in south ms seems to be deleted.

I think that must be what they were hoping.. i wasn't gonna give up any info I didn't have too.
The Mechanics at the dealership i bought my last 3 rams from recommended deleting the trucks.. The owner of the Dealership told me to keep the parts and if they needed to call Chrysler in for warranty they would put it back to stock first.. he said they saw way less problems out of deleted trucks.. this was back in 13 when I bought the last one from him..

And that is why i find it crazy.
If this is all about emissions:
why is it that when you delete the truck and tune it they gain 4-10 miles per gallon?
Why does it run more efficiently and make more torque/HP? (properly tuned, not a smoke show special)
Why is DEF sold in primarily cardboard and plastic?

Well...
No EGR and no pre/post injection. Both significantly reduce NOx emissions by reducing free nitrogen in the cylinder and prevention particulate exhaust. No DPF significantly reduces backpresure and eliminates regens. Get rid of all that and your NOx/PM emissions go through the roof, but fuel economy does improve.
Since SCR systems deal with NOx via urea sprayed over catalyst, significantly less EGR use is necessary. Hence the reason DEF trucks get better fuel mileage than trucks with only a DPF
See above, along with no "smoke map" in the fuel curve.
Its corrosive as hell. It is a urea solution.

Lat me ask you this on a little side note. Would you feel comfortable buying an 11-16 LML knowing now what the issues with the CP4 pump are? Do you think a lift pump and running Stanadyne in every tank is sufficient or would you definitely budget for a CP3 conversion?
