Bunch of the merino wool base layers on sale up to 25% off. I may grab a another kiln since it seems to be the piece I wear almost every time I go in the woods.

The Kiln hoodie is tempting. I have the Kiln quarter zip and it's awesome.

I love mine,, hoody pulled up on those cold mornings adds warmth and then when it warms up unzipped mid chest covers a wide range of temps

I was pissed about First Lite because I bought a jacket and pants for my dad last season to be delivered in October for deer season. He loved them. Then on the first wash the zipper’s on the jacket chipped off. Most of them.

Sent back as instructed and only to find out they never shipped a new one to him. I had to call and raise Hell.

They shipped it last month.

A couple of my pieces of had for 3-4 years now. I hunt minimum of 30 days a year 30x3=90$ or 1$ a hunt.
I take care of my hunting clothes and only hunt in them and not work or yard work/weld/brush bust in them. It’s well worth the money imo.

Bought some first lite pieces in 2018 before going out west for an elk hunt. Made that same hunt in 2017 with some cabelas gear but didn’t feel like I had as much versatility, it kept me warm but I sweat a lot with the pants on and would have to remove the jacket when hiking.
The lightweight merino clothes helped me be able to layer as much or as little as I needed. I sweat less when moving and was warm when stationary with less thick clothing.

Since then I’ve added to my first lite gear, usually adding a piece or two during the sales. I personally love it. Has held up well and keeps me comfortable from hot October down to single digit temps with the right layering and less bulk then my previous gear.

I think the obsidian merino pants and the origin hoody have been my favorite most versatile pieces.

I'd agree with you if I were only hunting one or two weekends out of the year or sitting in a box. Not saying that's what you do, just saying it wouldn't be worth it if I weren't hunting as much as I do. I hunt almost every weekend and go north for a week to 10 days in November/December. I'm comfy as all hell no matter the temp now and that keeps me in the woods longer. I've had the kiln top for 3 years and I wear it more than anything else. It's pretty versatile.

I have some Mtn Ops merino bases and they are the same quality as the First Lite. I also have had a pair of meriwool leggings from Amazon. They don't fit as well but they've held up for 5 years now.
