You can hunt with Ms. or La. license as long as you're between the levees

Says distance is not set. Case by case

And this is why you will lose everytime if the GW has a hard on for you.

quote:That might be accurate in reality, but the agreement has nothing to do with levees. It's basically just covering lands that are now on the "wrong" side of the river.
between the levees

Yep, a lot of these things are open to warden interpretation. If they can prove the birds are using an area due to "baiting" they can write tickets. I had never thought about this before but I've got friends that have had good shoots in cow pastures where feed lots are due to the corn and grain being in the animal manure. Obviously you can't hunt on the feedlot itself but if the livestock are "baiting" the pond for you it's ok as long as it's not in close proximity to the feed.

Since we are talking about baiting.
Let's just say I want to plant some brown top in a hole on a WMA. Legal? No? I can't find a damn thing in the pamphlet, so for the time being I think I would rather beg for forgiveness than ask permission.

You're correct sir.
Ms. has the same agreement therefor it creates gray area.

Whatever license you are carrying is what season dates you're supposed to follow. This is why I have lifetime in both states!

Nice. I hope my host for this weekend realizes I only have La. Not looked at any season closings for us. Is duck still open in La?

Honestly, I don't think I have 2 more weekends in me. I'm tired.

Looks like I'm ok either way:
quote:
?When waterfowl seasons are open in one of the states but not the other, properly licensed residents from either state may hunt waterfowl on lands and waters listed in sections 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e, 1f, 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, and 2e of this agreement, PROVIDED THAT the waterfowl hunting season is open in the state where such lands or waters are geographically located.

Yo, take a look at my post about planting on a WMA, got anything on that?

If you keep digging you will see where it is a huge benefit to be licensed in both states.
