Didn't know S&W made pocket knives.
I carried a S&W knife for a year.
My findings:
1. It is really heavy. Now I carry a Benchmade Mini Grip that weighs about half of what it did.
2. It started getting really loose. Obviously my Benchmade costs over double what the Smith cost me, but for a $50 knife, I figured it would stay fitted tighter for at least a little longer.
3. The blade coating isn't nearly as good at the Cerakote on the Benchmade. It started wearing pretty quickly.
4. But most importantly, the steel was a cheap import alloy. It would get dull VERY quickly. The serrated part became my main place to cut because the trip was dull and the cutting surface right next to the tip was dull. It got to a point where it wouldn't even cut bubble wrap. I knew it was time to change knives at that point.
Then again, I know I'm comparing a $50 Smith to a $125 Benchmade.
But my advice would be to get a Mini Griptillian and call it done. Unless you lose knives a lot, you'll get a ton of utility out of it.

Amazon has had several Kershaw knives on lightning deals this week. Good place to look for a deal.
ETA: They have an SOG and a couple of S&Ws coming up later today.

Spyderco Tenacious if you're looking for a bigger knife. It feels sturdy, but still light for a bigger pocket knife. $30-40 on Amazon. They have the straight edge, and the combo edge.

If you're looking for a knife a little smaller, the Spyderco Persistence is a smaller version of the Tenacious. It goes about $30.

-I have a cold steel voyager under 50.
-CRKT neck holder under 30.
-Bencmade rules, but hard to find under 50 (I get my balisongs from them always).
-Kershaw knives are great for the price.
-SOG make good, ok knives, but just make sure before you buy that it has a lock blade and check the steel, it depends on if you are looking for a edc/use knife or a self defense type knife. I say that because some steel is better for use and some is better for not rusting depending on the type/grade of steel used.
