Power Pole recommendations

I have a 22 ft Skeeter - mostly fish in south Louisiana. Have heard different things about an 8 foot verse 10 foot option. Any recommendations are appreciated as far as brand or installation location.

I'd go with a 8' unless you are set in the bigger one. I have a 8' pro series and it works just fine. If you have a jackplate use the jackplate mount. If you don't use the transom mount. Im not a fan of drilling into the boat. If it were me I'd do dual 8s and call it a day. The blade and pro series difference is the look and they both have same pumps. Hope this helps..they are well worth the damn money for sure

Thanks Whodat - that was my next question for folks that had one - did they think it was worth it. Thought about the duals but probably will just sons the $ on a single.

Following, mainly for installation recs around BR

As for install, if you have a jackplate mount do it yourself it's easy...if you use the transom bracket like mine where the motor had to be removed I'd bring it somewhere. As for that only place around br is front 2 back boat service. Boat dealers will do it as well but rape you on labor. I wanna say front 2 back is about 2k with tax and brackets

I think one is fine. I just got the 8' and I love it however while getting one I would get the 10' if I had to do it over again. As with anything in boats you never regret having too much.

Front 2 back isn't the only Power Pole installer in BR. We also sell and install them in BR, though we are off Highland Rd. near Ruffino's.
OP, installation of the new CMonster systems with adaptor plate typically takes 1.5-2 hours.

can a remote control be added to an existing setup?

Keep in mind that an 8' or a 10' in no shape or form will hold you in 8' of water, I have a 10' and anything over 6' deep is ify on holding you especially with any wave action. Me personally I would go with the 10' to give you some extra reach but you cant go wrong with either one!
Will completely change the way you fish, took me a while to bite the bullet and buy one but the first trip out I don't know how I managed to fish without it!

I have a 22ft skeeter as well. I have the 8ft with the Jackplate bracket mount. It's perfect for where I fish. I have only had to use my anchor once since I've gotten it a year ago.
As far as getting 2 I think the better option would be one power pole with an Ipilot trolling motor

If you have the money, two is very nice, but not necessary. One will make you change your mind about them "not being worth it" for sure. I never once put down a regular anchor.
I had one, and I wasn't running to buy a second, but if I had the disposable income at the time, I would have had a second.

We got a 10 ft pp and a xi5 trolling motor. Having these 2 items are an absolute game changer. Got the 10 for the xtra reach but if we're in deep water we usually anchor with the trolling motor. I'd get the 10 if you can and id get a gps trolling motor before I got a 2nd pp

Absolutely. Once you fish with one, you'll never want to fish without one. They're great.

Anyone saying 2 is unecessary can't afford the second one, get 2 10's and don't look back.

You probably can't even afford a kayak

We use a 12ft talon with an I pilot GPS trolling motor... Definite game changer. Expensive set up, but well worth the $$$ remote control is badass!

This. Buddy of mine has dual 12' and they hold awesome. He had Power Poles and sold them for the Talon's and has no regrets.
