I am having my pool replastered and plan on going with a pebble stone finish. I have 3 pool companies each quoting a different products
- NPT
- Pebble Tec
- Wet Edge

Anyone use any of these or have a recommendation on which one is better?

Built a pool 3 years ago and went with Pebble Tec / Sheen. Chose this option due to its durability and how long it lasts. Several pool builders told us we should not have to refinish it for close to 15 years or so. Our builder warranties it for 10 years.

So far it has been great. It requires weekly brushing but it isn’t a big chore (I think this is recommended for any finish).

Only negative we have seen so far is it is a little rough and will scrape the kiddos knees or feet when they fall.

I would definitely make the same decision if I built another pool.

I am a builder in Houston. NPT is more of a quartz finish and will mottle over time and look more like a faux paint finish. Pebble Sheen will be the most comfortable pebble finish. Wet Edge is typically a little more expensive, larger aggerate stone and not as clean of a fit & finish. Pebble will last a lifetime if you keep the pool fairly well balanced.

Man, we just went through all of this a few months ago. We had a bunch of companies come out and give quotes between $6K-$15K. It all gets silly with the amount of shite you can do to a pool surface. They all have their advantages and disadvantages. In the end we kept going back to the way the water looked and the way the surface felt of the old fashioned white plaster. We went and looked at over 20 pools around the area to get some ideas of what we wanted.

In the end we went with the white plaster with RPM (pozzolans). It has a 15yr warranty and we couldn't be happier. You have to be happy and just understand that no surface you choose is going to last a lifetime. The difference in longevity is 2-3 years at best. If you take care of your pool they'll all last 15+ years.

We just built our pool and went with Wet Edge. Love the color we chose (Blue Indigo). Should last 10-15yrs. As someone else mentioned about PebbleTec, it is a bit rough on the feel, but looks great.
