Picking chanterelle mushrooms

I went picking last weekend and got 6 lbs. I went yesterday and got about 10 lbs and I'm going back today.

It's practically impossible to mistake a chanterelle for anything else that's growing right now. I say practically cause I can see someone from ar-Kansas or Alabama doing it. JK....

Used to have chanterelles growing between my house and my neighbor's house in Lafayette. Easy to I'd, easy to pick and so sweet.
And if you see something that looks like a chanterelle growing on a cow patti, don't pick it.

No, they just come out of the ground. They are in the trees and in the underbrush.
Got about 8 more lbs today and about 25 lbs between 3 of us. Got a lot to clean and pack.
