Painting a Pirogue

Just picked up old pirogue for cheap. I tested to make sure it didn’t leak so I wouldn’t have to do any fiberglass work. What kind of paint do y’all suggest to give a good protection? Not so much worried about it being camo

I made my own back in the spring and I used flat exterior paint from lowes. it's worked pretty well so far this season.

Is the pirogue wood or fiberglass? Also, where did you find it? I have been looking. Most people want damn near the cost of new for a used one.

If it’s fiberglass the amount of prep work to get regular paint to adhere to it you will be better of gelcoating it versus paint that is going to wear and chip off.
If your not wanting to gelcoat then duralux.

I have Chapman’s, I just get the camo paints from Walmart and spray patterns on them. It holds up fine. If you need to touch up, grab color of choice and hit it again as needed.
