Nope but I've gotten interested in birding after years of wondering about the birds I've seen out in the marsh while fishing. Birding gives you lots of time outdoors in some very scenic places and I've always been somewhat of a nature nut. Spent last weekend wandering around Rockefeller, Cameron Prairie, Lacassine, and Sabine NWR's as well as Peveto Woods and the beaches.

Over the last few years as I have gotten fairly serious I've taken trips to Texas, Arizona, California, and Costa Rica and had a lot of fun on all of them.

My father, who has always had an eye for birds recently took up birdwatching as well. He used to hunt all the time, play golf, etc but in his latest years he seems to enjoy the birdwatching the most. He goes all the time all over the state and I think it is a really good hobby. I think he gets the biggest kick out of identifying birds that he has never seen before or seeing birds that are not "supposed" to be in certain areas. Any outdoor hobby is generally better than watching TV.

Me too! Sometimes naked, but, it's usually on a log, trying to get to that gobbler on the other side...

My grandfather owns a farm and has cattle on it, but I've never really been into it much. Only helped them bail hay a couple of times when I was younger because I love driving tractors

Once you really get into birding finding a "life bird" (one you have not seen before) is pretty much the goal. Finding them outside their normal range is a major objective as well. But, yes, it really is an excuse to go outside in the most scenic areas of the country and tell the TV to F off.
