Killed one cat squirrel and shot at another. Access to my favorite hunting spot is now severely restricted because of the walls-and-walls of briars, etc., that appeared after Katrina.

Got out to my hunting spot Saturday morning and grabbed my hunting bag. I hat 6 shotgun shells in it. I was pissed.

About 20 minutes into the hunt I see a big arse fox squirrel. I shot it and it fell about 15 feet and grabbed on to a branch, so I shot it again. It fell another 10 feet and grabbed another branch, so I shot it again. 1 squirrel, 3 shots. I shot three more with my remaining 3 shells. Could've bagged my limit easily. 2 fox squirrels, 1 gray squirrel, and 1 hybrid (gray/fox).

Where do you hunt, Slick? I haven't seen any fox squirrels on my property in years. We had a couple that used to play around the house and were off-limits to hunting, but some arse snuck in and killed both of them.

First time shooting them I have used Wasp Stinger 3 blade 100 gr in the past.

The Thunder heads made a nice 1.5 inch entrance and exit. I didnt get full pass through which I was upset about. When I cleaned her I realized why. My shot was a litte forward and I cleanly sliced through one of the scapulas (sholder blades) and through both of the humeral heads (large upper leg bones). I will say that my bow is generating over 90 ftlbs of kinetic energy with the 29.5 inch draw and 462 gr arrows.

The thuder head was in perfect condition on the other side, not even a chip in a blade.

I would have to give it a 9.5/10 with only deduction for lack of pass through (really my falut for bad shot placement)

I hunt in St. James Parish near Maurepas WMA. They have a lot of squirrels out there and they are probably 45% fox, 50% Gray, 5% black.

Red Foxx was black, so that makes sense.
