In regards to the adjustable pitch, I believe it's the screw that attaches the prop to the shaft. The tighter you adjust the harder it is to push with your legs, but you go faster. I believe it has 3 pitches. Easy, medium, and hard.

A little FYI, I emailed Jackson over the weekend amd asked them if they'll be making an open cockpit kayak with the Flex Drive. I hope to hear back from them today. I told them that down here we don't need rear storage and really need the room for a crate and a fish bag that will hold slot Reds. I mentioned that the Hobie Pro Angler dominates this market, which I'm sure they already knew. My perfect kayak is a Nucanoe type with the Jackson Flex Drive. We'll shall see.

I don't understand. How is a screw doing this?

I've watched multiple videos on the bonafide. That's the most well thought out design in the market. The removable dry storage in the floor looks like the space they'll roll out there peddle drive in a year or 2. You know it's coming...

I'm happy with what I have now (KC) but when that bonafide with a peddle drive comes out, that may be my ultimate boat.

The Bonafide has got me bonerfide. Sick layout and will be a total package with a pedal drive. Its almost like a mini Titan.

I believe the screw loosened allows the prop to not spin as as many revolutions as the shaft is spinning allowing for an easier peddling, but less speed. As you tighten the screw the blades spinning will match the shaft meaning more drag, more speed, but harder to peddle.
