I have several Superlative Arms as well.
Considering I have several, it’s safe to say I’d definitely recommend them.

Been eyeballing a 14.5 pencil barrel. If I pin/weld a flash hider, are the threads basically destroyed?

I boogered up some threads on a Colt SOCOM rifle I was setting up for a block 2 clone.

Used an angle grinder to take out the weld and pin. Just barely “kissed” the threads. Went to remove the flash hider and every thread from the pin forward was cross threaded.

John Thomas (Retro Arms Works) in Illinois pinned and welded a new surefire 4 prong flash hider with no issues. He does great work. Lots of good reviews on reddit regarding his work.

TL:DR

No, the threads shouldn’t be affected if done by a competent gun smith. You could probably pin/weld the same barrel multiple times before you maxed it out.

Can y'all recommend an adjustable gas block for my 11.5" Roscoe barrelled upper? I'll be using my Banish 45 can on it.

SLR makes one of the best. I have several superlatives that are great too.

Use a dremel with a cut off wheel.

Not an AR but Christmas present to myself. Zenith ZP5k-p. My Tirant 9 fits nicely with 3 lug adapter. Wanted one of these for as long as I can remember.

If I get a 14.5 in barrel for my M4, do I need to get a tax stamp?

There are a couple of ways around it.

Pin and weld a flash hider on it that gets it to 16”

Put a pistol brace on it.

Buy a stamp.

Bravo Company A2X or any Surefire 3/4 prong, warcomp, etc if it’s an M4A1 clone.

Get it pinned/welded. At most, it’ll be half the price of a tax stamp with none of the NFA bullshite, i.e. vertical firegrip vs angled foregrip or registration.

ETA: commandos have 11.5” barrels. Get a HAR-15 brace from PSA. Looks the part of a CAR-15 stock, but the QD point on the rear makes it a brace.

Are Bear Creek Arsenal uppers worth a shite?

I'm interested in a 6.5 grendel upper and they have them 25% off

They have good reviews, but then who doesn't

They fall under the same reputation umbrella that Palmetto State Armory and Anderson Manufacturing. Your mileage may vary.

They’re probably fine…. probably.

I wouldn't hesitate if they were PSA quality, but after looking into them more I'm pretty hesitant to go that route.

I’d put them under PSA and AM. I tend to stick to PSA for budget things. So far so good.

I’ll likely go with PSA. They are out of stock on most 6.5 Grendel uppers right now

if you look at the left of the carrier, it appears that it routes the gas out of those ports and down into the magwell so maybe it's minimal?

not many reviews out there as of now.

I suspect the main effect will only involve money changing hands.
