To say it won’t happen is a stretch....
It has happen to a few reviewers before. I can’t say that it happened to him with straight shouldered or tapered but I’d be willing to bet straight since he was taking it on and off to test different cans.
His solution was simple enough. He took some rockset and applied it to the guns threads that he wanted the cherry bomb to permanently be on. Screwed the trash panda with cherry bomb stuck inside onto the rifle then let the rockset set and then easily unthreaded the can from the cherry bomb. Sounded like a simple enough fix for me not to be super worried

Love that setup! A project like this is on my short list.
What carbon fiber stock did you go with?

Manners eht.
I would have gone McMillan initially but the manners served me better for left handed.
All said and done the stock was $700 and took 6months. It was only 3oz heavier than the original polymer stock that came on the tikka.
I am very happy with fit and finish

I’ve followed that project since your first post about it. I want to do the same with either a tikka or bergara. What length is that barrel cut back to? Any idea on how much velocity you gave up?
Posted on 4/15/18 at 8:46 pm to brightside878
I only cut a little over 2” off the stock length. She’s cut to 20”
I am getting 2760fps out of 165gr accubonds with my can on with a standard deviation of 8fps and 3/4MOA. I think it’s a max load of 46grs of Varget.
Given how fast I was able to push those bullets it’s really hard for me to say I even lost velocity but that’s with my handloads. My guess with factory Ammo and before and after lengths I luls say cutting 2” off would normally make you lose in the range of 50-100fps depending on bullet weight and powder burn speed. With that said after doing all that I would not hesitate to cut to 18” if it was going to mainly be a 400yard deer gun. Especially if you wanted to just bump down to 150gr to gain some speed back
Unfortunately I don’t have data ore cut and thread because that was the first thing I did with the gun is dropped it off at Bowie’s and head it threaded.

Awesome. That’s what I was thinking - 18” barrel and a can to live on the rifle. That brake on the omega has got to kill a lot of recoil
Posted on 4/15/18 at 9:29 pm to brightside878
Honestly b/w can on or just brake I can’t tell the difference very much.
Shooting with the can the gun honestly feels like a .243

Anyone with a PSA lower on here and if so how do y’all like it
Like once a week they are on sale for their daily deals and thinking about picking one up for my AR Pistol build
Also looking at a Radical Firearms or Hardend Arms 10.5 for the upper

I've got one PSA Lower I'm satisfied with; bought it complete.
Next time, I'll buy one stripped, & install all Colt parts. Already have all the parts.

How do you like that scope? I'm looking to replace the Vortex Sparc AR I have on my Armalite M153GN13.

Snagged me the PSA complete lower for $129
they sold out of them with the shockwave blade but i was able to snag one off another site for $38. So i ended up saving money.
Also ordered my Hardened Arms 10.5 upper with nickle boron bgc

I have a rotating head bench vise. I really like that it rotates with two sets of teeth.
Took your advice and got one of those heffers. Love it so far.
And it’s first task was a hand guard swap on my scorpion. Worked flawless.

I think I heard about that it seems. That should be interesting.

Drop in trigger for AR platform has been available for 2 years. It's not a completely new thing

Anyone built a .224 yet?
I'm trying to decide between a PSA upper and piecing it together.
Will never shoot past 600 yards. Just have a few boxes of .224 and no gun to shoot it

Gas block help. I am swapping my stock Danial defense gas block out for a SLR adjustable one. The DD one was pined...so do I want a clamp on or a set screw adj block?
